There are two difficult concepts and procedures to perfect in order to get a great landscape in Colorado. First, get the water right…..that’s a whole other article. The second things to put together in a landscape is color, texture, and scene. Mixing of colors can be difficult, and balancing that with appropriate texture is even harder. It all comes together to create a scene, different from each viewpoint or perspective, and evolving as one moves around the landscape, and evolving through time as the plants grow during the season and as colors change in the fall months. Professional photographers who focus on the natural landscape understand these concepts and incorporate them into their photo shoots. Take these two sets of photos as an example. By no means are they professional photos from a photographic perspective, but they are indicative of the idea that a slight shift in perspective yields a new look on this same scene. 
As well, these same scenes will look vastly different in 5 years as the plants fill in and mature.
